Job Overview:
The Practice Nurse RN is responsible organizing and administering individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Provides care in outpatient/ hospital settings including but not limited to High-Risk and NICU follow-up clinics and the Pediatric Health Center (s), and Pediatric Services. Involves the identification of follow-up patients, meetings with the family to review program, appointment setting, weekly clinic set up and completion of tasks, evaluation summary letters to private pediatrician. Coordinates care for infants/ children and prepares reports that are performed as baseline and/or for diagnostic purposes. Organize and administer individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an outpatient/ hospital setting in support of medical care. Supports the philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, JCAHO requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in Unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
