Job Description

General Purpose Perform functions of the Medicaid Specialist under the direction of the facility Business Office Manager ("BOM") in accordance with sound accounting practices. Essential Job Functions

  • Accumulate and maintain vital statistics relating to admissions, discharges, deaths, transfers and daily census of facilty Medicaid residents
  • Prepare an submit monthly resident reports for billing services provided
  • Monitor and manage the accounts receivable collection process
  • Pursue past due accounts persistently and maintain proper backup documentation for past Patient Monthly Liability
  • Submit required form and documentation to local Department of Social Services offices for Medicaid residents
  • Attend meetings meetings, seminars and workshops when approved, to assure current knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to bookkeeping functions
  • Verify that resident trust is accurately dispersed and posted
  • Maintain accurate accounting of patient trust funds to be submitted with any renewal Medicaid applications for residents.
Other Job Duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident records
  • Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment and abuse
  • Protect the personal property of the residents of the facility
  • Others as directed by the BOM or Administrator
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years experience with State (VA Preferred) Medicaid program and Managed Medicaid products in healthcare facility
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
  • Genuine and care for our elderly and disabled residents
  • Comply with Residents Rights and Facility Policy and Procedures
  • Perform essential duties as outlined above
