Job Description

The Major Gift Manager is responsible for cultivating and securing philanthropic contributions from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and local businesses. This role includes developing strategic relationships, identifying new funding resources, and managing sponsorships. 

This position will plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events to increase community participation, build donor engagement and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit major gift donors, including corporate and local business sponsors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors and community partners.
• Secure sponsorships from corporate and local businesses to support organizational programs and events.
• Serve as a thought partner to Riverdale Y leadership to build a strong culture of philanthropy
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all fundraising events.
• Track and report on sponsorship and donor contributions.
• Represent Riverdale Y to donors, prospects, volunteers and other key constituents both internally and externally.
• Work closely with the marketing and community engagement staff to build awareness, develop materials and organize outreach.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Experience in major gift fundraising, sponsorship and event management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in identifying and securing sponsorships from corporate and local businesses.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in nonprofit or a related field.
• Knowledge of fundraising software and CRM systems.
• Experience in planning and managing large-scale fundraising events.

Salary: 

• The salary ranges from $75,000 to $80,000 commensurate with experience.
